This was a new technique for me, and I decided that I wanted to make a fall card with it.  I just love this pumpkin stamp, and I thought it would be perfect for this technique!

I wanted the words in the pumpkin to really stand out, so I stamped those first in Autumn Terracotta.  Then, I stamped the pumpkin on top of that with Versamark ink, and embossed it in clear.  I sponged the whole thing with chocolate ink.  

At this point, it is just a resist technique...now the fun begins!  I placed a clean piece of cardstock over the image, and ironed it with a hot iron!!!  Just make sure that you turn the steam off!  :o)  This will pretty much remove the embossing.  I stamped the swirls in New England Ivy, and misted over the whole thing with a mixture of pearl paint, Desert Sand reinker, and water.  I love the shimmer it gives!!!

I cut different leaves from the Art Philosophy cartridge at 1 1/4", and an acorn at 1" from some scraps I had left from the You & Me paper.  I also cut a stem from that paper, and a scalloped circle to go behind the pumpkin circle.  I hope you like it!

There are many ways to use the masking technique, but I thought I would share how to use it to make a nice, clean border without your images overlapping at the corners.  It is very simple, but this card was so sweet and simple, I thought it would be fun to share, anyways!

 It's all fine when you start your border, but when you get to the edge, what do you do?  Simple!!!  Just use a scrap piece of paper to cover the area of the border you don't want stamped.

Then, line up your stamp with your previous stamp, and you will have the first part of your border done!  As you move along, I have found that I will sometimes need two scraps at each end when I am working with a side that is shorter than my border stamp.

Christmas Card Workshop

Hello, everybody!!!  I have finally finished planning my Christmas card workshop.  Whew!  Things have been so busy around here!  I hope you like what I have come up with.  Here are the cards!  :o)

We will be making two each of these four designs, eight cards in total.  We will be able to use multiple techniques: dry embossing, heat embossing, paper folding...all kinds of fun!!!  Due to my extremely busy Saturdays this month, I need to schedule this one for a Friday night.  I will be teaching this at my house on Friday, October 28th beginning at 7 pm.  The cost is only $25, and I only have 8 spots, so hurry and book your spot quickly!  Once the spots are full, they are full, and I will be moving on to a different workshop for next month.  As always...happy scrapping!  :o)

Here is the card I created.  I used the Believe paper from Close To My Heart.

For the background, I used an ink resist technique.  I stamped the snowflakes with clear embossing ink, then embossed them with clear embossing powder.  I sponged over with Sky ink, and edge distressed with Desert Sand ink.  I stamped the sleigh in black ink and Holiday Red ink, cut it out, and popped it up with 3-D foam tape.

For the flower, I took a 1x9 inch paper, and accordion folded it, and made a little flower.  I cut the shape out with the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge.  The little snowflakes are second generation stamped with Sky ink.

 Roxie is definitely one of my favorite paper packs!!!  I am loving it!  I only used one stamp, but I got a double effect with this technique!!!  I inked up the stamp in Desert Sand.  Then, I used the brush side of a Tulip marker to go around the words along the outside!!!  I LOVE the way it turned out!  Don't forget to breath on your stamp BEFORE stamping the image.  This will remoisten the ink, and you will have much more success.  Also, it is easier to use this technique on smaller stamps, such as words or small flowers, and the like.  At least, that has been my experience.  :o)
